Rabbi Pinchas Alush was appointed this past Sunday as the rabbi of the sephardic Jewish Community of Arizona.
The event, held at the ballroom of the King David school in Scottsdale drew more than 250 locals.
Alush, born in Milan, Italy, and educated in Israel, is active in the Arizona community along with his wife Esther, and has been organizing daily prayers, Torah classes and youth activities.
On the stage – as part of the ritual of placing a Talis on a new rabbi – Alush was joined by his teacher, famed Talmudic-commentator Rabbi Adin Even Yisroel-Steinsaltz, Chabad Head Shliach of Arizona Rabbi Zalman Levertov and Rabbi David Revivo, President of the Orthodox Union of Phoenix.
I am very proud of you, Abba. I hope you become greater and greater… Mazal Tov
