In response to recent tragedies, Areivim USA is intensifying its efforts to enroll the Crown Heights and Lubavitch community at large.
Areivim is now offering a new service where you can receive a personal callback from a volunteer to discuss the Areivim policy and address any questions you may have.
If you would like a callback from Areivim to discuss further details, please complete this form.
Established in 2009, Areivim USA is dedicated to providing dignified support to widows and orphans.
Members of Areivim contribute small amounts, which collectively provide $150,000 per orphan in the event of another member’s passing.
To date Areivim has paid out to Lubavitcher families over $6.2 million dollars.
The Crown Heights Beis Din has issued a letter of support for the Areivim program, stating, “We commend the Areivim program for its honorable support of orphans and widows.”

There is no good reason why most of crown heights is not signed up for this. Most have $42 per month (the max they collect per month) that needs to go to maaser and the cause is one of the most important in yiddishkeit. This is not life insurance but rather a dignified way for a family to cope after a tragedy. It is such a shame that we get bombarded with campaigns after a tragedy to collect a few hundred thousand for a family where the heads did not have the foresight to sign up for Areivim. Now is… Read more »
Unfortunately they do not cover people with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, so what’s the point of them? most people who do not pre-existing conditions can get a decent policy with a guaranteed payout, without all the red tape for a little more per month.
For those with pre-existing conditions, this would be ideal, but they reject you.
I have a pre existing condition and although I pay out every time there is an Arevim collection as my wife is a member I have still been refused. I don’t understand why my family doesn’t deserve the same dignity as others. My wife has been a member for many years and every time I request membership I am denied even though we contribute to all collections.
All I can say is I am a big supporter of everyone getting regular 30 Year term life insurance. I feel it’s the best way of doing things for most people. People think they need to speak to a broker or it’s hard to get. That’s not true.
I used a website and did a little shopping and got a good rate. Better than any local broker offered
What if a person has life insurance? Can he join Areivim USA? Yes. Life insurance has no bearing on eligibility for membership in Areivim USA. Does Areivim USA take the place of a life insurance policy? No! In fact, we encourage our members to purchase as much life insurance as they can afford in consultation with a licensed life insurance agent. Areivim USA is a tzedakah program whose goal is to provide for the needs of unmarried orphan. Why should a person with adequate life insurance protection want to join Areivim USA? 1. A great mitzvah Areivim USA offers its… Read more »
This is not about coverage for your life insurance or a policy. This is a very dignified way to support windows and orphans. Especially someone who was part of the program and paid out for others. Hence the name, arevim. As a community we guarantee that each other’s children and wives should not need to go around begging and should have the little dignity that they have left. Someone who has signed up in good health he did so when he had little risk. He only did so to help others. His family should be rewarded and be thankful for… Read more »
It is important that families with young children have life insurance (even areivim) accounts on both the father and mother. Even a stay at home Mom, if c’v is not around to do the tremendous work she does, an extra income is needed to cover that loss. Moshiach Now – but be practical meanwhile.
My only complaint is that people tend to think they do not need to get life insurance partially due to this.
Thirty year term life insurance is the best way for almost everybody. It’s easy to get. Everyone should get it as soon as they have a child. Or better, as soon as they are married.
Areivim is good and I’m all for it as a supplement but not a replacement for life insurance. Many people think that it replaces life insurance. It does not.
