Amidst reports of repeated attacks by Saudi Arabian hackers on Israeli websites and the hacking of Israeli credit-card details, a Chabad camp’s website has been hacked as well.
The round of cyberwarfare between Israel and Saudi Arabian hackers has expanded to the United States, where the website of a known Chabad summer camp has been hacked this week.
Over 2 weeks ago a Saudi hacker posted 15,000 Israeli credit-card numbers and passwords online, and then attacked the websites of Israeli airline El Al and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, forcing them to suspend service for hours.
Israeli hackers have vowed revenge for these and other attacks, including those on two Israeli hospitals and the Haaretz newspaper’s website.
Now, CampGanIsrael.com, the website of the Chabad overnight Camp Gan Israel in Parksville, NY, has joined the list of Jewish websites that have been breached.
“Saudi Arabia HaCkEd,” reads the message in red on a black screen, along with a photo of an Arab with his face partially covered by a scarf, holding a sign with arabic words and the email address [email protected].
The words in Arabic, translated by Google Translate, read: “The infiltration of the virus before the war…”
This is the second time this year the camp site has been hacked.
Last September, COLlive reported that those logging onto the site were greeted by words in Arabic and a photo of a frightening looking person. It took a few weeks for the administrators to restore the website.
Hershy Chitrik, a New York businessman who volunteers as the technical manager of the camp, said at the time that he doubted the virtual attack was against the camp “personally.”
“I guess it’s because we have ‘Israel’ in our name,” he said.
I’m sorry, but this is pathetic, they have to target camps… they must be real “elite” hackers. don’t be scared @ the above comments. Arabs don’t know much about hacking. they are known as “script kids” they use simple automated programs that do things such as a SQL injection for them.
anyways, I wish all of our sites best of luck with security.
May G-d protect us…
WE WANT MOSHIACH NOW!
Great idea, but instead let’s give that money to families that need it to live.
Those guys have nothing better to do. such lowlifes.
we need an amaing jewish proffesional “hacker” to un-hack this. the answer is very clear: if each jewish city donates 200 dollars, thats VERY little for each family, all together we’d have TONS of money, we can hire a very good professional for couple of days to un-hack this,
Let’s not
will your computer get a virus or something?
Why doesn’t anyone complain to verizon for hosting terorists?
