“It was the first Shabbos I kept in two and a half years and I loved every minute of it,” was one of the excited comments from one of the guys that came on the Aliya Shabbaton for his first time.
“Even if we had cameras with audio recording our entire Shabbos, it wouldn’t have captured the pure energy, joy, and camaraderie of our Shabbaton,” said Rabbi Moishe Feiglin, Director of Aliya.
It was a Shabbos to be remembered by all for a very long time.
The house and the picturesque setting were mind-blowing. The group sang kabbolas Shabbos together which rolled straight into Sholom Aleichem and a delicious Shabbos meal. The guys did the cooking and cooked up a gourmet storm like no other!
The meal went late into the night, with everyone sharing whatever was on their mind combined with lots of nigunim. On Shabbos morning they divided up the Tehillim, had another tuneful Davening and a Shabbos meal which almost went until Shabbos was over.
On Sunday the boys woke up early for a full day of skiing on Hunter Mountain. The guys slept solidly through the 3 hours drive back to Brooklyn, arriving back at Aliya late Sunday night for Maariv and farewells.
Thank you to all of our donors for making this amazingly inspiring Shabbos a possibility. Special thank you for Rebbetzin Feiglin, Rebbetzin Baitz and Rebbetzin Shemtov for encouraging your husbands to leave for Shabbos for this very special opportunity.
For all you do !!!
BH my son is happily married now thanks to Aliya
you guys do amazing work. no one realizes what amazing work you do until the see it first hand
I want to thank Rabbi Noteh Shemtov for helping our son during a difficult time.
Our son was dating a non-Jewish girl and involved in a bad lifestyle and I don’t know where we would be if not for the help of Reb Notte, who gained our son’s trust, through love and patience. His help saved our family.
