Shmira Patrol of Crown Heights has alerted residents to be aware that a black male has been seen stalking and harassing young girls in the past few days.
The incidents occurred on Motzei Shabbos, August 27, just after midnight.
The man, described as black, in his 40’s, with a small black beard, was wearing a brown coat, eyeglasses, and blue jeans, and was seen riding a bike on Kingston Avenue.
Eyewitnesses said he approached a number of young girls, trying to get their attention.
He also said inappropriate things to the girls, whistled, and followed them, they said.
Shmira suggests that residents should make sure not to walk alone at night, remain alert, and report any suspicious activity to the Police and Shmira volunteers.
If the suspect is seen, do not approach him, call 911 and 718-221-0303, they said.
EXACTLY. If the girls are too naive to know better, parents need to sit down and explain in words of one syllable the dangers of being out so late.
Weren’t the ice cream store, pizza store etc supposed to close after a certain time to avoid them becoming hang-outs? Whatever happened to that idea?
I think what this man is doing, is disgusting.
Can he get arrested for what he did? Is harrasing somone a crime?
