V’eleh Shemos – Menachem Mendel, is to unite all those who were named in honor of the Rebbe and carry the name Menachem Mendel.
In honor of the Rebbetzin’s second yahrtzeit (on 22 Shevat 5750), N’shei Ubnos Chabad published a unique album titled “Kol Yemei Chayeha,” featuring the names and pictures of all those who had been given her name since her passing. The Rebbe derived much nachas ruach from this album.
The current project is based on this precedent—to collect the names and pictures of all those who were given the Rebbe’s name during the past twenty-five years, since 3 Tammuz 5754.
A new website was launched this week for this purpose, where anyone with the name Menachem Mendel, or who has given his son this name (in full or in part), can take part. Simply enter the name and location and upload a picture. You can also share stories connected to the child’s birth or name-calling. The site is open to anyone across the world, and requires no fee.
The thousands of names and pictures of those who proudly carry the Rebbe’s name will be featured in an attractive album, which will be published in honor of Gimmel Tammuz 5779.
The campaign is a project of Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus, a division of Iggud Hashluchim, which includes a number of head shluchim in the United States.

In a letter sent by the initiators of the project to Shluchim around the world, they wrote:
Sunday, 12 Adar Rishon, 5779
Dear shluchim sheyichyu,
Shalom U’vrachah!
We now stand exactly sixty days before 11 Nissan, the 117th birthday of our Rebbe.
Each chossid is certainly preparing himself and his family for this auspicious day, through increasing his commitment to the Rebbe’s mivtzoyim and horaos, and so on. In addition, we would like to give you the opportunity to join the community of shluchim and chassidim around the world in presenting the Rebbe with a special gift.
In honor of the Rebbetzin’s second yahrtzeit (on 22 Shevat 5750), N’shei Ubnos Chabad published a unique album titled “Kol Yemei Chayeha,” featuring the names and pictures of all those who had been given her name since her passing. The Rebbe received much nachas ruach from this album. Based on this precedent, it was suggested that the community of shluchim across the world present the Rebbe with a similar gift – an album featuring the names and pictures of all those who were given the Rebbe’s name during the past twenty-five years, since 3 Tammuz 5754.
The Rebbe stated (22 Shevat 5749) that through naming a girl after the Rebbetzin and educating her in her spirit, it is as if the Rebbetzin is still alive – מה זרעה בחיים אף היא בחיים. In this light, this gift will surely express more than anything else the concept of מה זרעו בחיים אף הוא בחיים, especially as we mark twenty-five years since 3 Tammuz.
During the next sixty days until 11 Nissan, a large-scale worldwide campaign will be launched in an attempt to gather as many such names as possible to be included in this historic publication.
Registration can be done via a website that has been launched for this purpose http://www.ourrebbesname.com
The multilingual site, accessible in Hebrew, English, French, and Spanish, gives visitors the option of filling in the relevant information and uploading pictures, as well as sharing stories pertaining to giving the Rebbe’s name.
We would like to personally invite you to take part!
· Register your Menachem Mendel on the website, so your son will be featured in the album.
· Inform your extended family, friends, and community members of this project, so that they, too, can register their Menachem Mendel’s.
Looking forward for your participation,
Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus – a division of Iggud Hasheluchim
The Rebbe told my father to name me Menachem Mendel.
what if named after tzemach tzedek or named after someone named after tzemach tzedek?????????
Yes
can you sign up if you have just one of the names like just menachem or just mendel but for the rebbe?
You should really reach out to many official “non Lubavitchers” who have also called their children MM. There are tons. Would be amazing to include them!
Also some may have only one name or 3 names (i.e. MM plus another name) for whatever reason.
As long as you were named menachem mendel after 3 tamuz 5754 for whatever reason then you can and MUST Sign up
to #1
yes also for babies.
to #2 world wide anash, just like by the rebbetzin.
to #3 and #4 you are right, the idea is to give nachas ruach, the wording is not so importent.
I’m named Menachem Mendel, and it’s most certainly not ‘in memory’ of the Rebbe.
Because so many of us will not want to take part in saying we are named AFTER the Rebbe. Oir parents have explained us that we were and are named FOR the Rebbe. We share the same name.
or world wide anash?
