You can call it an introductory Kinus Hashluchim of sorts.
Chabad Rabbis in the Boston area held a Chassidic Farbrengen on Zoom on Monday night, some interacting for the very first time.
With a decentralized institutional structure for Chabad in Massachusetts, many have been operating until now in isolation or in scattered groups.
The new call for achdus among Shluchim has led to reconciliation efforts between 2 feuding rabbis in the Israeli city of Kfar Saba and to the invitation of 2 rabbis in Kenya and Ethiopia to join the official Chabad Shluchim group in Central Africa.
“Unity is the call of the hour,” said Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar in an hours-long farbrengen during which he advocated reconciliation between Shluchim and official and unofficial Chabad institutions.
With the Chabad community experiencing the loss of over 90 people during the global coronavirus pandemic, Rabbi Lazar said promoting peace can serve as a spiritual remedy for these tragedies.
During the farbrengen on Sunday night, Rabbi Lazar promised that within 24 hours “the issue will be resolved,” in reference to his years-long feud with Kazakhstan’s Chief Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen.
In the Boston area, the efforts played out in a unity farbrengen participated by some 30 local Shluchim. Divrei Torah and words of chizuk were shared, following which all of them signed on to a joint ‘pan’ letter sent to the Rebbe’s Ohel.
“This is the first time this ever happened,” one of them told COLlive.com.
Many names were added by Harvard Shliach Rabbi Hirshy Zarchi to the active WhatsApp group “Boston Shluchim,” while Rabbi Mendy Uminer of Chabad Center at Chestnut Hill was coordinating joint outreach efforts to local Jews for this Shabbos.
Similarly, 15 Chabad rabbis active in Mexico also joined for a farbrengen on Zoom for the first time. Without a singular Chabad structure there, these participants have not been interacting or coordinating their work.
In the Israeli city of Netanya, a group of Chabad Shluchim and members associated with the Beis Moshiach community sat together for a meeting for the very first time. It was done with the blessing of Rabbi Menachem Wolpo, Head Shliach in the city.
“It was agreed to maintain and continue the connection, with Hashem’s help, for the sake of unity and for the nachas of the Rebbe,” read a statement following the meeting in Netanya.
They MUST be willing to have a discussion pertaining to allowing ALL children in school! Nothing will change until this injustice is corrected !
Yes, indeed. Yes. That and spending time to develop each talmid or talmida, another important fact.
So nice to see!! We need to see more of this.
I hope that this continues to ripple throught chabad and to all yidden. I also hope that these shluchim continue to grow in their achdus. May we hear more good news!
It will no doubt positively influence and create a “positive pressure“ to those who need the extra push to makeShalom!
Let’s keep articles such as these coming!!!
This will definitely bring moshiach
If each of us do the same reach out to someone we haven’t spoken to iyh
This galus will end very quick
The Tzemach Tzedek said, “di achdus fun Chasidim vet zei firn ontkegen Meshichi’n,” the achdus of Chasidim will lead them to Moshiach. This means, first and foremost, that we can do this. It also means that we must do this. In order to do this, we need to know what achdus means. Until very recently, it was understood that people can disagree, perhaps strongly disagree, about important, or even very important matters, and remain the best of friends. Until recently, we understood that even if a parent was wrong, we didn’t disown them, if a neighbor was wrong, we didn’t spit on… Read more »

This is a beautiful article! Thanks for the positivity!
I’d like to add that Mexico shluchim have always been interacting, the head Shliach Rabbi Mayzlesh helps all the Shluchim with all their daily and Yom Tov needs, there’s one brochure all Shluchim share for Yomim Tovim etc etc
May this effort for Achdus continue not only with the Shluchim but also within the CH community, and also with the Chabad websites who have a huge responsibility towards the worldwide chabad community to only post and promote in a way of Achdus
