R’ Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin recently visited Maor, the only learning center in Los Angeles where Jewish children who have special needs can get an education outside the public school system.
Maor was started by Chaya Chazanow and Sarah R’bibo 3 years ago to meet the growing needs of children with special needs in Los Angeles with the first class consisting of their own children. This year, Maor has grown to 11 students.
All these students have come from the public school system where they were not getting the care and education they needed to thrive. Now, at Maor, children are given all the tools they need to grow and learn.
As a father of a child with special needs, Rubashkin was very inspired by all the work that Maor does In motivating the community, advocating for families of children with special needs, providing an opportunity for special needs education, and Maor’s upcoming respite care program.
To see what you 2 have successfully founded, facing the difficult odds of establishing such a wonderful school In LA, takes vision, courage, and tenaciousnes – qualities you all have. May Hashem Bentch with Nachas, health & wealth, for all you do for these special children.
