The Chabad community in Leeds, England, turned the Nine Days of mourning after the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash into simcha.
Shluchim Rabbi Michoel and Chana Sorah Danow, directors of Chabad Lubavitch at Leeds Universities, invited community members to watch their son don Tefillin for the very first time.
In preparation for his Bar Mitzvah, Berel Danow put on Tefillin at the Chabad Centre in Moortown, bringing many locals to shacharis. After a delicious breakfast, he flawlessly reviewed the beginning of the Bar Mitzvah maamar.
In his remarks, Head Shaliach to Yorkshire, Rabbi Yeremiyahu Angyalfi mentioning that in the 6 years since the Danow family had arrived in Leeds, they have had “a tremendous impact on both students and the wider Jewish community and we wish them all a Mazel Tov.”
