In the heart of Sderot…
“A rocket just burst through my house, but I can barely notice.”
Two days ago, the home of Rabbi Pizem of Chabad of Sderot felt the violent impact of a Hamas rocket. Miraculously, no one was hurt, but the house stands severely damaged, with an entire section of the roof gone, leaving behind plaster, glass, and cement scattered about.
But Rabbi Pizem has little time to account for the damage. For the past five days, he’s been one of the many forces of good, bringing light to the darkness caused by Hamas terrorists.
The work hasn’t stopped; Rabbi Pizem hasn’t stopped. He and dozens of volunteers have been relentless in their efforts. This is what we’ve been doing:
In the face of this unrelenting crisis, Sderot is a city under siege. Homes and lives hang in the balance, and the courage of the ordinary citizens who’ve had to become extraordinary in the face of this horror is nothing short of inspiring.
The rockets continue to rain down, but so does our commitment to helping those in need. The lines of people seeking food and shelter only grow longer by the day. Our dedicated team of volunteers tirelessly mans the kitchen, preparing meals and packages for those who cannot move.
And it’s not just our own who benefit. Battle-weary Israeli Police officers, Special Forces members, and IDF soldiers from around Sderot find solace in our hot meals, coffee, rest, and, most importantly, the warmth of hugs and words of comfort and inspiration.
Our home visits persist, reaching out to countless traumatized individuals whose lives have been shattered by violence. Our crisis therapists work tirelessly, offering support 24 hours a day.
As you can imagine, our efforts come at a high cost, and we find ourselves struggling to keep up. But this is a mission of unwavering dedication and urgency.
Your donation is more than just money; it’s a lifeline. It’s the hope that these orphans can cling to, the strength that keeps us going through endless nights, and the love that heals broken hearts. You have the power to make a profound difference in the lives of those who have lost everything.
This is a crisis unlike anything we’ve seen since the Holocaust, and your contribution can mean the difference between life and death for those struggling to survive. Your generosity is the beacon of light in this dark hour. We implore you, please, make that critical donation today. Together, we are not just saving lives; we are restoring faith, love, and hope in the hearts of those who need it most.
