Hundreds of Jews gathered last week for a lavish Purim party in the Hyatt hotel in Ukraine’s capital city of Kiev hosted by Lubavitch businessman Raphael Rutman and his wife Devora.
Rabbis, diplomats, businessmen and even some showmen were there to hear the Megilla and celebrate Purim with a full sit down dinner and Chassidic spirit.
Rabbi Yosef Glick, head of Tzivos Hashem youth movement in Ukraine, was invited to say a kapital Tehillim, and Rabbi Meir Stambler of Chabad’s Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine spoke about the message of Purim.
With the walls decorated and the tables set, families joined for the meal leaving enough time for dancing and a costume contest walking down a red carpet to be judged.

The Rutmans graciously opened their home and prepared a delicious homemade meal for us when we went on our Russia trip. Their hospitality is something special! they’re amazing ppl!
