A few years back, I was contacted by an individual. He wanted to donate to our Mikvah in the zchus of his brother, who had been married for a number of years but hadn’t been blessed with children.
He recently reconnected with me to ask if the mikvah had been completed yet. It was just before we were ready to launch the opening, and he informed me that his brother’s wife was expecting.
As we began our campaign to upkeep the newly launched Mikvah, the gentleman called me once again with exciting news: his brother’s wife gave birth to a baby boy after 8 years of marriage! He had no doubt that it was a result of his donation to the Mikvah.
Nestled in a suburb of Philadelphia, a powerful beacon of light stands for thousands of Jewish residents. Lubavitch of Bucks County serves their growing community with programs such as Hebrew School, a daily minyan, Friendship Circle, summer camp, and adult JLI classes.
But it was time to up their game. In a bold initiative, the shluchim decided to take the next step forward and build a Mikvah for their Chabad House. After all, a Mikvah’s central function is paramount and precedes all other initiatives in a community.
Until now, Lubavitch of Bucks County had been very successful in encouraging Jews to become more involved with Yiddishkeit, evident by the size of their Hebrew School, adult education classes, and weekly Shul observance. The Mikvah, however, would engage community members on a whole new level.
Built with pristine quality and elegant beauty, it would compel women who never considered using the mikvah before to take on this beautiful tradition. The launch also included a Mikvah for keilim and a men’s Mikvah, which many described as the nicest they had ever used.
The gentleman from Williamsburg displayed it simply: supporting a mikvah leads to personal miracles. As the list of attendees continues to grow, the newly built Mikvah in Bucks County is literally adding purity to the community, one family at a time.
The current campaign aims to pay off the $650,000 mortgage to ensure the Mikvah can be sustained as it moves forward.
Why wait to ask for a miracle? Support our new Mikvah to get a head start for a lifetime of brachos.
It’s crystal clear: One ripple makes a difference!
