If you walked down Kingston Avenue this Purim, you likely saw a luxury RV towering the street. Inside, throughout the entire 24 hours of Purim, bochurim came in and out to take part in the four mitzvos of the day. With more than ten Megillah readings and a constant atmosphere of chayus and simcha, the RV became a true hub of Purim activity.
The initiative was led by Rabbi Gavriel Kollin, founder of the Farbrengen Retreat, together with the help of Rabbi Noach Shepps and Rabbi Meir Malka. Purim is an incredibly holy where both kedusha and klipa are activated. Many people struggle on this day to stay focused on the kedusha. This RV provided a warm, positive environment where they could celebrate Purim in a meaningful way.
Baruch Hashem, many of the bochurim shared that this was one of their “cleanest” Purims—filled with genuine simcha and a real focus on fulfilling the mitzvos of the day. A handful of bachorim who reached ad d’lo yoda who needed a place to sleep had a home in the RV.
Looking ahead, Gavriel plans to continue supporting these bochurim by hosting them over Pesach, providing a safe and uplifting environment, and organizing another 10-day Farbrengen Retreat in the Poconos later this spring.
If this shlichus speaks to you and you’d like to help make these opportunities possible, please consider supporting the effort.
