At Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch (OYYL), Chinuch goes beyond the classroom. Our dedicated teachers understand the importance of connecting Torah learning to real-life experiences, and every Pesach, they take it a step further to ensure our students have an unforgettable preparation for the Seder.
This year, as we prepare our students for the upcoming Seder, the teachers organized engaging, hands-on workshops that include checking salt for chametz, preparing their own salt water for the Seder, and even roasting their own zeroa! They also wrapped and tied their own 10 pieces of chametz for Bedikas Chametz. The energy of the students was so uplifting and enthusiastic, and they engaged in each task with great excitement. To top it off, the students have the incredible opportunity to visit a local matzah bakery, where they see firsthand the entire process of matzah baking.
Besides studying the general Haggadah, the students also took time to learn the minhagim of our Rebbe, focusing on the unique practices of Beis Harav and the Rebbe’s specific minhagim that guide the hanhagos of the Seder.
After weeks of study and review, our students are now fully equipped with both the limud and maaseh necessary for a truly meaningful and educational Pesach. They have crafted personalized Haggadahs filled with the insights they’ve learned, and each student went home with special packages, ready to hold their own Seder, excited to share their knowledge and pride with their families.
At OYYL, we believe that learning Torah is not just theory, but a very tangible experience. Our curriculum is designed to make every lesson come to life in meaningful, action-oriented ways. As our Rebbe teaches us, “מעשה הוא העיקר” — action is the essence. This idea guides everything we do, ensuring that our students are actively engaged in their learning and experience the practical applications of what they study.
With the recent move to our newly purchased building, OYYL is now enrolling students from Nursery through 8th grade, for both boys and girls. If you’re looking for an educational environment that combines a rich Torah curriculum with a hands-on approach to learning, we invite you to join our growing community.
