I was shlepping my granddaughter’s suitcase up Albany Avenue in Crown Heights during the last Kinus Hashluchos.
It was extremely cold and I noticed a woman passes me. A few steps later she turns around, comes back, and asks if I’m a shlucha.
I answer yes.
Without hesitation, she presses some cash into my hand and says, “Buy something for your family.”
I stood there for a moment, a little surprised, and very moved. It was a touching gesture, a way of honoring the Rebbe and his shluchim, and showing appreciation in the most personal way.
Never mind that the locals hosted four thousand guests, and we took over the streets and stores for nearly a week.
The patience, the smiles, the understanding. It did not go unnoticed. So I wanted to say thank you to Crown Heights, for your support and love.
A grateful Shlucha
Crown heighters are just a different level of kindness
The work the shluchim do could only be done because of Criwn Heights support
Thank you thank you!
100%!!
I would say that Crown Heights is the capital of hospitality in the entire world

Any Chossid who acts as a messenger to do what the Rebbe wants is a a Shliach of the Rebbe.
This doesn’t take away from the special unique mesirus nefesh and 24/7 on call that many Shluchim have.
Inspiring
BTW for the record: Some Shluchos are BH doing financially a lot better than many Crown Heights residents.
In this particular incident it doesn’t seem the case
Some Crown Heights residents are BH doing financially a lot better than many Shluchim
Some are rich and some there. How rich each is? Always different
Yet the Rebbe explained in Teruma 5752 that EVERY JEW IS LITERALLY RICH and we need to reveal our spiritual and then our physical riches.
I’ve heard from people who tried figuring out how to reveal their spiritual riches, are suddenly very comfortable in financial matters, haven’t heard physical riches yet but I’m sure soon enough friends will tell
What an incredible mitzvah. Yes we all should appreciate our hard working under played shluchos. Whoever this compassionate WOMEN was, May she be Benched. We should all follow in her foodsteps.
Super! Shluchim should learn from them
Such a beautiful reminder of the warmth and love that Crown Heights radiates! The simple kindness shown on Albany Avenue reflects the deep respect and appreciation people have for the Rebbe and for the work of the shluchim. That spirit of generosity and achdus is what makes our community special — may it continue to grow and shine until the coming of Moshiach very soon, when we’ll see our Rebbe and the Beis Hamikdash במהרה בימינו ממש!
