Gabboim of the main shul at 770 Eastern Parkway will be experimenting this Shabbos a beta minyan of just 10 people, while the wider public will be barred from entering.
The decision to open was made after a meeting with the Rabbonim of Crown Heights on Friday.
The Gabboim announced that they will allow 10 people who are representing the community to begin davening there.
They say this will be in effect only if the rules are enforced.
No possible way for this to go wrong…
Or that’s part of the ten ppl…?
NY state law only allows for 10 people total in the building. All 10 would need to be men in order to make a minyan.
Lol, how is that going to work.
The second the doors unlock the crazies will start to push their way in.
Bad idea, 770 should stay locked until it can open at full capacity.
Exactly ! Finally some one understands!!! 770 can open when lehavdil sports stadiums open . It’s just not possible to put a limit . And soon will be Gimel Tammuz with thousands of guests .
The people that would come to CH for Gimmel Tammuz are smart enough not to come this year.
Got it…
You bring up a good point. The madness is going to spread like wild fire
The women section has five hijackers parked there 24 hours . How will that work
They are part if the ten … so not point of you going . It is what it is … any one who goes knows the situation . I don’t see how this will work out with out machloikes
What is the goal of this test? There’s definitely room for ten adults . It’s that once the shul opens publicly every one will come in close contact with each other . I’m not understanding
How do you become one of the 10 representatives?…
This is turning into a game of the haves vs the have-nots.
This is a terrible “experiment”
Representatives by definition are chosen by the people they represent. Is there going to be an election, or will these representatives be appointed by a select privileged group and in the end represent nobody? Once again, yichus rules the day. Or is it money this time?
HAHAHAHAHA. THIS IS WY I LOVE CROWN HEIGHT
I don’t get the point of this at all. This will just continue division within the community when people are chosen over others to “represent the community” and determinations of who’s “essential” vs non essential.
Seems pretty ridiculous.
Relatives of the original 40 families from Lubavitch Russia?
It wasn’t like the doors were open and unlocked just they only allowed 10 people inside. The doors were locked, and were opened before each of the tefillos to let 10 people inside. Bh, it worked well, no incidents happened on shabbos, and iyh soon they will be able to, slowly but surely, let more people inside, until we will once again to have 770 back to normal.
