Monetary scholarships were distributed to many of the students of the 770 Yeshiva this week by the “Yissachar and Zevulun Project” from the Iggud Talmidei Hakvutza.
This was the third time scholarships were distributed to the bochurim who excel in their studies, and did well on various tests.
Yissachar and Zevulun is a new initiative which encourages the bochurim to learn very seriously, with a strict schedule and goals.
“With the incentive of their gashmius needs provided for, this allows them to focus on their learning wholeheartedly,” organizers said. “The purpose of the project is so that every bochur can invest all his energy in studying the Torah without having to worry about the basic living needs on his own.”
The bochurim took the third test from the project this week, on learning materials for the month of Teves. The test was conducted in a hall in Crown Heights.
On Rosh Chodesh Shvat, there was a celebratory feeling in the air in 770, as the scholarships were awarded to the students who excelled.
“The results speak for themselves and many of the bochurim see the huge benefit they have from their participation in the project, both spiritually and physically,” organizers said.
Already last week, immediately after the test, the students continued their studies for the month of Shevat, in preparation for the next test, which will be held at the end of the month.
