Ever since Chana Kahn of Tarzana, CA was 3 year-old, she has been memorizing perek alef of Tanya.
She practices each night before she goes to bed, and slowly but surely has added more and more lines. She now knows 18 and a half lines.

I agree with #22! I was lucky enough to have had Morah Racheli Jacks both as my unforgettable 6th Grade teacher, and some years later, as my fellow co-worker. As a result of working with Morah Jacks, I was delighted to relearn Perek Alef and Perek Bais Tanya myself. Thanks to Mrs Racheli Jacks, longtime Morah in Beis Rivkah of Montreal for recording the Tanya with a tune for the BRM students. Even very young girls know dozens of lines of Tanya by-heart because it’s set to a tune. Her recordings have made it around the world, with much success Boruch Hashem.
We miss her here in Montreal and wish her and her husband much hatzlocho in their shlichus in Melbourne Australia.

There are two very good tidbits of advice:
Follow a nusach (tune), phrase/sentence by phrase/sentence.
Works for all ages.
Also, hearing and seeing text at the same time makes all the difference (record yourself so you can listen for review, this also helps to keep the tune the same for each review).
