At least 3 attendees of the AIPAC Policy Conference last week in Washington, DC, have tested positive for the coronavirus, AIPAC said.
These include 2 people from New York who attended the conference, held February 28 to March 2, the pro-Israel lobby confirmed on Friday.
The latest confirmed case is a resident of Los Angeles, officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said.
“Public Health is identifying persons who may have had close personal contact with this individual, including any friends, family members or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness has begun. All confirmed cases are isolated and close contacts are quarantined for 14 days from last exposure,” a department statement said.
“There are no known public exposure locations related to this case,” it continued.
The DC Health Department has issued a statement that “Based on our investigation thus far, in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDH), there is no identified risk to conference attendees at this time.
DC Health said that since the individuals were “asymptomatic” during the conference, “meaning they were not experiencing symptoms like fever or cough, while they were in DC. The information provided to us by NY indicates that both cases have no identifiable risk for anyone exposed to them.”
