The Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch on the campus of the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, New Jersey, hosted a monumental celebration this past week.
A large sign was hung in the ‘zal’ study hall, and the faculty of the Yeshiva and its students gathered on Thursday for the occasions.
It was all in honor of a 22-year-old bochur named Dan Moshe Coleman who is from England.
Coleman, a former student of the Chabad Yeshivos in Miami and Morristown, succeeded in completing the study of both Gemara Bavli and Gemara Yerushalmi.
He timed this rare achievement, one that can typically take others a lifetime to achieve, to be concluded in honor of his birthday on the 21st of Adar.
It has been a dedicated pursuit which he continued as he returned to the Yeshiva in Morristown this year to serve as a Talmuid-Shliach, helping younger bochurim.
Rabbi Chaim Schapiro, menahel of the Yeshiva, emceed the ceremony and praised Coleman’s hasmada and dedication. He thanked all of Coleman’s teachers over the years and Rabbi Moshe Herson, Dean of the Yeshiva and Head Shliach of New Jersey.
Speakers included Rabbi Sholom Spalter, Rabbi Zalman Wilschansky, Rabbi Hertzel Pewsner and Rabbi Aharon Dovid Ganz.
Joining virtually was Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, Rosh Yeshiva Gedola Chabad in Miami, Florida, where Coleman previously learned.
Colemnan made a hadran conclusion and haschala beginning anew. The crowd then joined in joyous dancing in honor of Torah and its learning.
