The Yeshiva Shluchim of London, together with Beis Medrash of Kingsley Way, arranged an inspirational evening in London on Tuesday, to give thanks to Hashem for the Rebbe’s miraculous recovery from a major heart attack thirty years ago.
The evening began with remarks from Rabbi Mendel Gordon, the Mashpia of Yeshiva Lubavitch of London. The Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Hertz, who was present on Shmini Atzeres of 1978, recounted the chain of events which transpired then and in the weeks which followed.
Rabbi Dudi Cohen, a Shliach to the Lubavitch Day School, recounted his experiences of the past weekend in New York. He shared with all of the people present how inspirational this year’s Kinus Hashluchim was.
A video was shown of Dr. Ira Weiss, the Rebbe’s cardiologist, in which he explained the medical miracle that took place.
The event then concluded with the guest speaker, Rabbi Ephraim Piekarski of Crown Heights, who was specifically brought in to Farbreng.
Live music played throughout the Seudah which then evolved into joyous singing and dancing.
Rabbi Piekarski inspired all the Bochurim and members of Anash with his inspirational words and lessons. After the formal event concluded Rabbi Piekarski then began to Farbreng. The farbrengen continued long into the night.
