One perpetrator was arrested last night after stealing and spraying a fire extinguisher in multiple stores on Kingston Ave.
At approximately 9:40PM, the 2 perpetrators entered Sweet Expressions at Kingston Ave and Union St, and sprayed a fire extinguisher in the direction of a young girl. They then sprayed the same bottle into Noribar Sushi and fled.
One of them was apprehended near Union St and Schenectady Ave. The perpetrator that managed to get away is described as a teenager wearing a black T-shirt, red bandanna, and mismatched color sneakers.
If seen, please call 911 and Shmira @ 718-221-0303

They should at worst have to clean up an apologize, there’s no need to make a huge thing out of this
Wonder how’d u react in that chemical smoke.
may also have thought he was just playing a prank
these things are not funny
and besides, vandalizing a bus, stealing items and spraying fire extinguishers into peoples faces can lead to very dangerous and frightening situations especially in today’s day and age-
what you write is easy to say if you weren’t the one frightened and assaulted
The NYPD should investigate who paid them and charge all involved with a hate crime against Jews. Was slashing hundreds of tires of frum Jews in Lakewood last week and beating up Jews in Williamsburg also just a prank? Let’s put a stop to all these “pranks” against Jews.
If your daughter was sprayed would you still say it was a prank
This is not a simple prank it’s a sacona, the spray is poisonous and acidic to humans to injest or be sprayed on. The child should be examined by a medical professional to see if she was harmed. I know of a story some years ago where a child was seriously injured by having the contents of fire extinguisher poured on him. True scary story, sorry that was terrible!
Actually Very dumb
How would you feel if they did this in your store or your house.
And what may I ask ‘at best’? Apparently you were not the victim – and more likely, do not live in Crown Heights.
This comes from somewhere
Let them play this prank out on Utica Ave.Would like to see what would happen to them if they tried this there.
It’s very easy to live in a fairy tale world where you believe these teenagers are just kids messing around. They chose a Jewish store because they think it is funny to pick on the Jews.If the community doesn’t take a stand for something like this, then we become vulnerable for more attacks which can only get worse.
Huh? It’s an assault not a “prank”
foodstuffs may have been tainted by the chemical sprayed. In other words financial loss for the owners who could no longer sell sushi or candies coated with poison. This spray is meant to put out fire but it’s not a harmless chemical ( e.g. not H2O) that we can breathe or injest. When spraying you don’t spray on people. People are supposed to Stop, Drop, and Roll, but don’t generally get this sprayed on them directly. It’s meant for non living objects and is a powerful chemical. Also the stores have a significant cleanup expense
My father once ingested the stuff that come out of the fire extinguisher and now has a permanent breathing problems harmful
The comment calling this ‘kids playing pranks’ does not come from someone in our community, people, so don’t take it seriously. Lately trouble makers with too much time on their hands from the outside, who are against the Jewish community because they have to be ‘anti’ something, have been posting comment like this. Those are the kinds of people who support spraying water at the police.
I also think this was not a simple prank or their own idea. They were definitely put up to this by outside hateful influences. No doubt in my mind at all!
Yasher koach
They spray the Jewish community.. in other words, anyone who is a law abiding citizen. Pity the police did not take care of these low lives when it started a few months ago. Take a good look at their faces, you’ll see them being carted off to jail for much worse in a few years. That’s their only future.
This is just teens making a prank. This isn’t a “hate crime.”
If it wasn’t a hate crime why would they come to a Jewish store to play a prank? Why not ” play their prank” in their own kneck of the woods, their own community, or family? Wait, you mean it wouldn’t end well for them to do that overthere? Hmm, so if it’s not acceptable as a ” just having fun prank” on my own family and friends, then let’s do it on the people that we don’t like. Oh yes, here it is, We have just come to the meaning of a hate crime
