Lubavitchers in Montreal, Canada, had 2 large farbrengens organized to celebrate Yud Tes Kislev, known as the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus.
The first event was held at the main shul of the “Yeshiva” – Rabbinical Collage of Canada. Chassidim of all ages filled the tables with candelabras and a festive meal.
The guest speaker was Rabbi Lazar Gurkow, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Tefilah in London, Ontario, who lectures extensively on a variety of Jewish topics.
The second event was held at the Montreal Zal – Rabbinical College of Quebec, where a crowd of Lubavitchers and Yeshiva bochurim filled its hall.
Sitting on the dais was the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Leibel Kaplan and members of the hanhala. An orchestra played the Daled Bavos and other niggunim.
The guest speaker was Rabbi Simon Jacobson, Dean of the Meaningful Life Center in New York who served as one of the choizrim of the Rebbe.
Both speakers and events emphasized the importance of learning Chassidus on a regular basis and how it can enrich one’s Jewish life.
