1,800 Rode Coach Buses to Ohel

The sponsors of the project to provide round-trip coach bus rides to the Ohel for the day of Lag B’Omer were amazed and delighted with its success.

The organizers have expressed profuse thanks to Menachem Benchemon, for “going above and beyond,” in coordinating, fundraising for, and promoting the project, “which surely gives the Rebbe much nachas,” they said.

This year the largest-ever Lag B’Omer crowd converged on the Ohel, so much so that Rabbi Abba Refson, who directs Chabad-Lubavitch at the Ohel, had to arrange for security control which is usually reserved for very high traffic days at the Ohel, such as Yud Shvat and Gimmel Tammuz.

“This was definitely due to the efforts by Menachem Benchemon to educate the public about the Rebbe’s emphasis on the special zechus of visiting the Ohel on Lag B’Omer,” organizers said.

An estimated 1,800 men, women, and children traveled to the Ohel on the buses throughout the day, enjoying complimentary refreshments and Chayenus as well.

Later in the day, due to the overwhelming success, an additional 8 shuttle buses were added, to accommodate the large crowds.

This project was organized by Benchemon and Bais Shmuel Chabad of Crown Heights and was made possible through the generous funding of Yossi & Nechama Dina Katz & Family and several generous donors.
