A tragic scene in Miami, as a young Orthodox Jewish teenager fell to his death from the balcony at his apartment building in Miami Beach Tuesday night.
16-year-old Shmuel (Sam) Farkas had been locked out of his apartment in the La Costa apartment building in Miami, and was attempting to climb into his apartment from the balcony above.
He tragically fell to his death from the ninth floor. Police and Chesed Shel Emes of Florida (CSE) are at the scene.
“It is not a criminal investigation. It was an accident,” a source told COLlive.com.

Today would have been Yitzchok’s (Sammy) 16th birthday!! Yitzchok was a very special kid. When he cme to our high school I saw that he joined the Sephfardic minyan. I reminded him that his name is so Hungarian (Farkas) and I wondered why he was joining our Sephardic minyan? He answered with a smile that he wants to daven with them because they have a tradition to say every word out loud!! This little anecdote reflects who Yitzchok was! Always had a kind word for everyone teachers and students alike! Y’hi Zicro Boruch!!
