16 Graduate Melbourne Smicha

On this past Monday the 15th of Av 5771, a Tzeitzchem Lesholom was held for the sixteen graduates of Mochon Chaim LeSmicha LeRabonus, the world renowned Smicha program directed by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak HaKohen Gutnick and run by Rabbi Shraga Faitel HaLevi Levin.

Earlier on Monday all the Talmidim were examined by Rabbi Gavriel Zinner, the renowned author of Nuteai Gavriel, who praised their knowledge and spoke of the special impression made on him, “I have had the merit to examine students in many Lubavitch institutions” he said, “but never have I been so impressed as I was today”.

Other speakers at the event included, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak HaKohen Gutnick, Rabbi Shraga Faitel HaLevi Levin, Rabbi Beck (Rov of the Adass community), Rabbi Wurzbuger (Head of Kollel Beis HaTalmud).

Two of the new Mesumochim, Rabbis Wolf and Bassman also spoke and made presentations thanking the Hanholeh for the wonderful experience given to them physically and spiritually, a year of learning at the highest level in the most conducive atmosphere possible.

Also present where many other Rabbonim, including Rabbi Cohen (Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah) and Rabbi Telsner, as well as many other members of the Melbourne community.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation to Rabbis Gutnick and Levin of a beautiful personalised album, with an accompanying video presentation, which documented the history of the Mochon’s sixteen years, and expressed the appreciation of many of the alumni of the program.

All the speakers greatly praised the achievements of the new Mesumochim, extended their blessings for the future and predicted the bright futures ahead of all of them.
