The National Jewish Retreat, organized by the Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), is in full swing this week in Washington, D.C., bringing together nearly 1,200 participants from across the United States, Europe, and Israel.
Now in its 19th year, the event is being held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, a landmark venue known for its history and elegance.
In just the first few days, attendees have immersed themselves in a packed schedule of classes, Shiurim, seminars, discussions, and informal gatherings, all designed to foster a deeper connection to Jewish learning, Chassidic teachings, and the Rebbe’s Torah. The energy in the hallways and study rooms reflects a shared commitment to growth and community.
More than 70 speakers are leading over 160 sessions throughout the retreat, offering a mix of scholarship, inspiration, and practical guidance.
Early sessions have featured voices such as Dr. Isaac Amon, Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet, student leader Shabbos Kestenbaum, Shlucha Miriam Lipskier, actor Michael Rapaport, and Mitchell (Moyshe) Silk, who made history as the first Hasidic Jew to hold a U.S. Senate–confirmed position.
With such a range of perspectives, the program is already sparking meaningful conversations and setting the stage for an impactful week ahead.
