On Tuesday, July 17th, 12 newly trained Mechanchim were congratulated and presented with certificates upon their completion MEF’s Teacher Training Program (TTP).
The year-long course covered a wide range of topics, including building academic skills, student engagement, lesson planning and execution, and other advanced teaching methods. The program also featured workshops on the MEF’s Data Driven Instruction Program.
Rabbi Zalman Shnuer, executive director of MEF, opened the program relating a short episode he encountered on Merkos Shlichus, and spoke of his belief in the success of each one of the graduates.
He then called upon Rabbi Mendy Yusewitz, co-director of the Teacher Training Program, to say a few words. Rabbi Yusewitz shared a fascinating Yechidus with the Rebbe, and inspired the new graduates to “identify a need, examine your role and potential, and be proactive!”
Rabbi Levi Eisenberg, co-director of the Teacher Training Program, then addressed the graduates and thanked each one for their participation and contribution to the program. “This year we had a creative and passionate group of mechanchim in the program. It was only through the group’s input and discussion that we were able to have such a rich and enjoyable learning experience.”
Some noted the Hashgacha Pratis in the timing of the TTP Graduation as they bid farewell to fellow participant, Nisim Forma as he left within a few short hours to his new position in the field of Chinuch, to S. Paulo, Brazil.
Diplomas were handed out and the group posed for a picture.
Planning for the upcoming Teacher Training Program are underway, and we are excited to announce that Rabbi Zelig Silber, a graduate of the TTP and a successful Mechanach in Monsey, NY will be directing the program for next year.
