The first Lag BaOmer celebration took place in Rockland County, New York with a crowd of 1,000 people participating.
The event at the Wesley Hills Plaza in Monsey, NY was filled with Jewish people of all types and from all communities, including Lubavitch, Chassidish, Litvish and more.
Participants enjoyed entertainment by singer Baruch Shalom Blesofsky with music by the Freilach Band, together with the Shir V’Shevach Choir. MC for the event was Rabbi Yisroel Silverstein.
The crowd enjoyed a marching band, clowns, and many other exciting activities, including moonbounces and other rides. An exciting BMX bike show, treats for the children, prizes, pesukim and more were enjoyed by all.
The event was a tremendous success, beyond expectations, organizers said, and is encouraging organizers to continue arranging similar events in the community.
The event was organized by Merkaz Ufaratzta Lubavitch, NCFJE, led by the Rebbe’s Shliach and Rav of BMML Rabbi Dovid Weber, together with Rabbi Levi Tiechtel of Igud Anash and the hardworking Bochurim Shluchim of Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey.
