Three years, 96 professionals and hundreds of studio hours in the making, the new album by up-and-coming Chasidic singer Choni Grunblatt has just been released.
The new “crossover” CD by the Argentinian-born Grunblatt combines a vast variety of music styles, mixing classic pop, Latin, country and epic rock.
The CD contains a diverse mix of songs, ranging from an emotional melody in Italian and English about the Holocaust, to an upbeat youthful track titled “Happiness.”
“It’s not the typical Chassidic album where you have one slow one fast song,” explains Grunblatt. “It’s different. It’s got huge arrangements and big choirs. It’s a sound that surrounds you and fills you with music,” he says.
Grunblatt, known for his previous releases “Lecha Anu Shira” and “Od Yavo Hayom,” began performing years ago in his hometown in Argentina, gaining popularity wherever he performed.
After moving to the New Haven, Connecticut a year ago, Grunblatt continues to perform to new audiences, enhancing many dinners and events with his music.
“After all the immense work put into the album, the release is a dream come true for me,” Grunblatt says. “I invite you all to relax with it, dance with it, pray with it and meditate with it. It is an incredible journey and musical celebration.”
