The UJA federation of New York if giving summer scholarship grants for area teens who wish to attend the CTeen Xtreme travel camp, run by CTeen – the Chabad Teen Network.
The camp offers separate trips for boys and girls, beginning in Denver and ending in Los Angeles. The itinerary includes exciting outdoor activities, scenic attractions and volunteer projects. Geared mainly for public school teens the camp aims to provide a Jewish summer experience with daily davening, learning and Chabad house visits.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky executive director of Merkos 302 says, “The seeds for CTeen Xtreme were planted by Shabbaton participants, who lamented that the experience, lasting just three days, was too short.”
Camp directer Rabbi Nachman Rivkin says, “Teens and families interested need to act quickly, the deadline to apply for the grant is March 31st”
The grant is good for any current high school student who resides in the five boroughs of NYC, Long Island or Westchester. The application form can be found at cteen.com/nyscholarships
