Zalmy Levy‘s recently released music video, ‘Yisovivenu’ has been viewed over 8,000 times on YouTube, was rated the ‘Shir Israeli’ song of the week, and has been featured on radio stations from Jerusalem to Johannesburg.

The song, with words taken from Parshas Ha’azinu has become a household tune for many thousands of its viewers around the world, with little fans in Hawaii posting video clips on the internet chanting the words of the song.
It is being featured on one of Israel’s biggest music shows, Radio Kol Chai, and unanimously winning the ‘Song of the Week’ title for the month of January 2011 on the Shir Israeli website.
The song was also played on New York’s ‘Z. Report’, as well as on Africa’s only Jewish radio station, ChaiFM, whom its intrigued radio hosts interviewed Zalmy and got some ‘behind the scenes’ info about the song’s creation.
“There is a certain charm to the song,” said Jewish folk singer and songwriter Moshe Hecht after hearing it.
“Trying to create Jewish Music with a fresh originality to it, but at the same time preserving a Yiddishe’ taam and not imitating the “other side’s” music, is what I try to achieve,” says Levy.
Levy, who will shortly be receiving his rabbinical ordination from OnlineSmicha.com says he will G-d willing continue writing music, performing at Chabad events and wherever else his music takes him.
