As we elevate from Yud Tes Kislev to Chof Kislev to Chanukah, picture every one of your children as a Menorah whose entire essence of being is to emanate light.

(It’s not so hard to picture. Every one of us is one such Menorah.)

You see your child, your self, your Menorah standing tall and proud. Many branches, many midos, many attributes, strengths, and capabilities extend outward, reaching to infinite places. The cups, the keilim crown each branch, waiting to be filled with boundless passion and energy.

The wicks, the material of life, have been formed into a conduit for something beyond matter.

The match is ready to strike. The night is ready to light. The world is ready to ignite.

Without fuel, a Menorah cannot be the Ohr it was born to be.
