How often does someone get the chance to save another person’s life? For some people, never; but for you, the opportunity is today.
There lives a young man in our community, newly married and former Hatzalah volunteer, who is suffering from kidney failure.
If he R”L does not receive a donor kidney in the next two years, his chances of survival drastically decrease. In fact, because of his ongoing condition and weakened state due to dialysis, he is highly sensitized and his body will immediately reject 95 out of 100 kidneys.
The more time passes, the more difficult it becomes for him to undergo a successful transplant surgery. According to UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing), the average wait time for someone his condition is 11-12 years. That means that if he continues along the regular route of waiting on the national deceased donor list, he may run out of time ch”v.
You have an opportunity to change that terrible statistic. You can get tested in the upcoming Kidney Donor Drive.
As an absolute last resort, he and his family are desperately turning to you, the Crown Heights community, to ask people to get tested to become potential donors.
The more people turning in, the higher chances of finding a match.
The more people getting tested, the higher the chances of this young man surviving.
Please be a part of this life saving mission. Get tested! It’s a simple blood test.
What takes just a few minutes out of your day, can potentially give years of life to another person.
After testing for compatibility, you can decide whether or not you want to go forward with the donation. Your decision will be kept completely confidential.

They are amazing, I hope he has been in contact with them. I pray he gets a kidney very soon – I tried to donate but I am not allowed & I understand the urgency. 2 of my grandchildren were born with kidney problems & one has already had surgery.
PLEASE – if you are healthy & want to save a life, consider going to Renewal & saying you would like to donate a kidney – firstly to this young man, & if not, to another Yid in need.
