Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Weiss, a resident of Bnei Brak, Israel, passed away Sunday while in the middle of the shiva mourning period for his late son Yisrael.
He was 31.
R’ Weiss suffered a heart attack and collapsed at the house in Bnei Brak where he was sitting Shiva for his firstborn son who passed away last Thursday at the age of six months.
Paramedics were called and immediately launched prolonged CPR operations, during which he was evacuated to Tel Hashomer Medical Center, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
R’ Weiss was born in Bnei Brak to his father R. Shimshon Weiss and his mother Mrs. Esther Perel. As a child he studied in the Talmud Torah ‘Zichron Meir’ in Bnei Brak, and after studying in a small yeshiva ‘Beit David’ studied at the Mir Mirchfeld Yeshiva in Modi’in Elite.
He was married to the daughter of the mashgiach of the Yeshiva Orchot Torah, Rabbi Avraham Weisblum, the nephew of the late Rabbi Moshe Slonim and the Rebbe of Talna.
One of his friends said of him: “Yitzchak Meir was a dear and gentle soul that I was privileged to work with in the last election in the Torah Judaism campaign. He was a very loving and devoted man to his family and his mission.”
Five months ago, he celebrated the joy of the bris of his firstborn son.
Last Thursday, the baby lost consciousness while in its caregiver’s home in Bnei Brak. Hatzalah performed CPR operations but tragically the baby passed away.

I’m sorry to hear such a sad story. May the God of our fore-fathers see the suffering of Yaakov- Yiseroel’s children and sustain us to our understanding and be able to continue to call Him kind.
