Renowned musician Yossi Piamenta joined a group of talented performers Wednesday at an event for children and adults with special needs in Crown Heights.
The enthusiastic crowd was entertained by Piamenta along with skilled violinist Yonasan Rothman, kumzitz-style singer Shimon Kugel on his guitar and keyboard player Zalman Negin.
Each performance led to lively singing and dancing among the participants.
A dvar Torah was delivered by Rabbi Alter Metzger.
Mrs. Devorah Scheiner, organizer of the event, said the goal is to provide a respite from the challenges life.
“We make people happy through music,” she says. “They come here to relax and enjoy.”

Money can not buy the smiles on our faces and on the faces of the children! Thanx, Devorah for inviting me to a most entertaining, educational, enjoyable evening.
Nice!
Thank you Mrs. Devorie Shiner for the amazing work that you do for our community – and thank you to the hosts for your gracious hospitality!
Devorah Scheiner.
We appreciate the time and effort that you always put in for the children with special needs, and the seniors. As always, this was a very enjoyable and entertaining event. You should be blessed with koach, gezunt and continue with these beautiful and caring arrangements.
…Shimon Kugel was the Chazan in our Shul, many many years ago. He actually signed my Kesubah!
