Yosef Yellin, long time resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Monday, 13 Adar, 5786.
He was 62.
Yosef first became acquainted with Chabad while earning his degree in Chiropractic Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He later became close with Rabbi Shalom Ber Korf at his Chabad House in Delray Beach, Florida.
As a result of his growing connection with Chabad and the Rebbe, Yosef decided to move to Brooklyn, New York, where he attended Hadar HaTorah Yeshiva and would go on to spend the rest of his life as a member of the Crown Heights community.
Yosef was extremely perceptive, possessed tremendous curiosity, and was always engaged in current events. As a result, he was a fascinating conversationalist who often offered unique insights on both history and the world around him. An accomplished athlete in his early years, Yosef experienced significant physical challenges later in life but always faced them with strength, grace, and humor.
The levaya for Yosef Anshel ben Aharon took place on Taanis Esther at 770 Eastern Parkway. Burial was at Old Montefiore Cemetery.
Yosef is survived by many friends throughout the community.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.

Such a special person, he never complained about of his many and long physical challenges. A great writer, left a series of very interesting and insightful stories on handwritten notebooks.
He will be deeply missed.

A beautiful human being.
Always happy for everyone, and so appreciative! May his נשמה be in the highest chambers of גן עדן.
Yosef was very connected to Rabbi Baruch Goodman, Dr. Moshe Verter obm, and the Chabad House at Rutgers University, New Brunswick,NJ. Indeed he lives for a period of time in Highland Park. NJ , before moving to Crown Heights. A lot of his family members were tragically killed in a terrible car accident years ago and he didn’t have an easy life, Rachmana litzlan. May his memory be for a blessing. My father obm was quite fond of him.
I knew him for many years. He was a very interesting and intelligent person and learnt many disciplines in his life including engineering, chiropractic, martial arts and Yiddishkeit. He had many challenges in his life but never complained and was always positive.
he’s definitely missed!!!
He was always with a smile!!
