Oy bashfer, breng shoin de ge’ile ! Rabbi Yossie Tevel obm started Ahvas Chesed many years ago after dealing with the illness of his father. Only then did he turned it over to R’ Leider. Rabbi Yossie obm started , for many years, an informal Medical Referal Service with his good chaver, Avrohom Chritonow. The heritige will continue, please HaShem, in his children, children-in-laws and grandchildren. On his wife’s side, his children are the great-grandchildren of Rabbi Yisroel Jacobson AND the grandchildren of the famous Rabbi Hecht of Chicago who was the Head of Cholel Chabad, until his untimely death.… Read more »

When I think of Pops I smile. Why? Because he cared. He cared about me, he cared about you, he cared about her and he cared about him. Even if he never heard your name before and you never heard of his he still cared. Whether it was a confused teenager, a family struggling financially, someone needing medical help, an out of towner with no where to eat and sleep, Yossi Tevel took them under his wings. And when I say he was always doing something to help another he didn’t just do it, he DID it. He is the… Read more »
For the past 6 years Rabbi Tevel has farbrengned on special occasions at our yeshiva, namely Yud Shvat. He was sombody who had all the time for us at Darchai menachem and as i am finding out now for a lot of other Yidden as well. Most recently Rabbi Tevel had farbrenged on 19 kislev sharing with us stories of the Rebbe and inspiring us to be Chasidishe Melamdim and Talmidim of the Rebbe. You truly exemplified a lamplighter, your warm smile and big heart finding its mark into the small candle that bursts into a flame. we will miss… Read more »

Dear Tevel Family,
May you be comforted in knowing that your dear father was a special person and shliach to so many in Crown Heights and beyond . He was a truly caring, devoted father and will definitely continue to extend his love and care from Shamayim. He is surely right by the Rebbe in watching over you and giving his ‘bear hugs’. This is such terrible news. Reb Yossel was such a special man and helped countless people. He has been so helpful to Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin – he was a real friend. He constantly spoke to him giving him chizuk and helping in any way possible.
One thing is for sure – he will be Sholom Mordechai’s greatest advocate in shamayim! He will make quite a ruckus – and of course to bring Moshiach already and get us out of this crazy golus.
if he had only $10 and someone needed it he would give it to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONE OF THE FOUNDERS AND THE BACK BONE OF STERNS YESHIVA UPSTATE…..WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU!!!
no one in the world will know what kindof warm ibergegebner individual he was

im imagning him telling me “stop it nu stop it” i dont know if he wants me to stop crying or writing
I don’t even know what to say, but Hashem, enough suffering!! We can’t take any more pain! Yossi was a very special person! Always thinking of the next person, how he could help them! May we only hear simchas from now on and MOSHIACH NOW!
one thing: every time you would see him anywhere, he gave you the biggest hug!
im crying!
they needed him up there he needs to pull a few strings he will be back!
He had a sudden stroke on Shabbos.
What a nice man , may hashem conforth the family ?
Was he sick ? What happened ?
Do you think G-d reads the blogs? I hope so, so many of these messages deserve to pierce through the gates of heaven…

I’m trying to imagine what He would say…I remember when he sat shiva for his mother he said, God has a sick sense of humor, and a really, really slow audiance
May god fill us in on the joke cuz its really not funny anymore!!
ad mosai!
Boruch Dayan Haemes!
Pappa Bear (as he was affectionately known) was like a father to all of us at shterns on cooley road we will really miss you- and your cheerful spirit
A shock of my life. Yossel had a BIG warm jewish hart, caring and helping with Mesiras Nefesh anyone who turned to him. He took upon him to much, to much, just to relieve another yids pain. His love to a yid came from within the dept of his pure neshoma. Crown Heights is crying.
how can we help the family? someone please post a link to where we can send donations.
Yosef Tevel, what a great man, father, husband, brother…i remember going on Mivtzoim with him on the holidays, spending Shabbos at his house, Farbrengening until the late hours… You will truly be missed and my thoughts are with the families. Be strong! Moshiach NOW!!!!!
AD MOSSAI?????????????????
MOSHIACH NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!!!
This is unbelievable! Yosef Tevel is such an amazing person, so selfless and always giving giving and giving without taking any reward. AD MOSAI!?!??! We are all pained.
Hashem! So many tragedies! We can’t bare this anymore! When is Moshiach coming? Ad Mosai?
