On May 9th, Chabad at York University’s Sinai Scholars Society chapter celebrated its first annual graduation dessert reception in the Chabad Off Campus Jewish Student Centre in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.
The intensive 8 week fellowship runs every semester on dozens of campuses throughout North America, and is coordinated via a central Sinai Scholars office together with the local shluchim on campus.
Rabbi Vidal and Chanah Leah Bekerman, Co-Directors of Chabad at York University, were very pleased with the 33 graduates this year, and are excited to continue the program next September.
“This being our first year running the program, we have already seen the fruits of this innovative approach to Jewish learning on campus,” said Rabbi Bekerman. “We are thankful to all those that made the program a success, including Chabad on Campus, Sinai Scholars Society, Mr. George Rohr, and an anonymous local donor. We look forward to further expanding this program and reaching even greater numbers of students.”
