Yitzchok (Yitz) Yonasan Zev Rosen, a 35-year-old father of 4, and resident of Melbourne (Caulfield) Australia, has tragically passed away after an accident while on vacation.
Last week, Yitz Rosen was on vacation with his family at Mornington Peninsula Country Club, when he was injured in an accident.
Investigators say he was found unconscious on the grounds of the resort around 7:20AM, after having fallen and struck his head while walking.
The 35-year-old was found with serious head injuries and suffering hypothermia, after spending the night lying outside, while his family slept in a nearby apartment unaware.
He was airlifted to the Alfred hospital with hypothermia and head injuries where was listed in critical condition until he passed away on Monday.
Levaya details were not immediately available.

May Hashem bring all of you נחמה among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. Although far away, our thoughts and prayers are with you. David (Chaim!) may you and you entire family continue to bring נחמה – especially to your parents, your sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.

I can’t begin to fathom the pain of this lovely family. May Hashem give them the strength and courage to carry on.
It’s so sad how something like that can happen in just one day. May the family be comforted and may Hashem give them the strength to deal with this tragedy. And may his holy Neshama rest in Gan Eden. I didn’t personally know him, but just from the picture and how he was described in the comments, it sounds like he was a real Tzadik and Mentch. Not to mention that he was born on Yud Tes Kislev! And to # 10: It shouldn’t matter whether he was a BT or not. When a good person passes away, especially a… Read more »

His family are very big friends of Chabad. His Mother, Juliet works at the Chabad School in Melbourne, and has taught many of the students there. She is originally a Feiglin, so he had chabad in his heritage too.
Apparently, based on the advice of his Mashpia, at his kabalos ponim, Yitzchok chazered the wedding Ma’amor, and surprised many who were there, even Rabbi Groner, This caused a tremendous Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Chabad to the many Mizrachi people who were there.

I’ve seen others ask similarly. Firstly, he’s a Frum Jew/yid, does it matter whether he was a BT or not? Secondly, and just as importantly, he was not a BT, rather a frum boy since birth, raised so in a wonderful ehrlicher melbourne family who are an integral part of the wonderful tapestry that is Melbourne’s Jewish community. You couldn’t find nicer people, who in their very living make a kiddush Hashem daily just by being them, wherever they are. Is there anything ‘frummer’ than that? I’d go so far as to say that ‘kiddish HaShem’ is possibly the most… Read more »

When I was on Shlichus to YG in Melbourne as a Bochur I got to know him. We used to learn together (he was then in Yeshiva College); He was clever and one of the nicest guys around. To his dear wife and children, to Chaim and the rest f his family, we weep for you, and for Yitzy OBM whose life was cut so short. All I can say is that he must have accomplished in these short years what it takes the rest of us a life time. Yitzy was always and will always be an inspiration to… Read more »
So sorry to hear. May the family know of no more sorrow. Wishing them strength of faith and love to see them through. Liana Silverman (link)
It sounded like something more than that. Even the authorities were looking for a perpetrator. I sincerely hope a FULL investigation is in process.
Hashem please – how much pain?!
For the sake of this precious family – bring Moshiach NOW!
I am crying.

Much strength to his family.
The Rosen family is one of the nicest families I can remember from my childhood, always kind with an open house. All of their children are very special people. May Hashem comfort you in this huge sorrow that you are all going through. May yitzchaks neshshama go straight to gan Eden as I’m sure it is!
