R’ Yisroel Meyer Ginsberg, a resident of Boro Park and noted baal Chesed, passed away on Shabbos, 5 Nissan, 5777.
He was 59.
R’ Yisroel Meyer was the son of R’ Moshe Yosef Ginsberg obm, a Lubavitcher Chosid from Boro Park.
Known for his acts of Chesed, he was known as the go-to person for any need, a family member said.
He is survived by his mother Leah Ginsberg, sister Rivka Steinmetz, and brothers Rabbi Aron Ginsberg – Shliach in Boro Park, Rabbi Binyomin Ginsberg – Minnesota and Rabbi Yitzchok Ginsberg – Israel.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 10:00 am and passing by 770 at 11:00 am on the way to burial at Montefiore Cemetery.

Very sad indeed. He was a tremendous baal chesed, im addition to his many acts of chesed, he would collect leftover food from caterers and simchas and distribute to needy families.
