Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh proudly announces the appointment of Mrs. Raiza Malka Hartz as the new Head of its Early Learning Center (ELC). Mrs. Hartz, known as Morah Raiza by her many students, brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and a robust educational background to her new role.
Mrs. Hartz holds a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her impressive career in teaching and child care includes her recent tenure as the Director of Early Childhood at Yeshiva Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch in Manhattan. Additionally, she has served as a Lead Teacher for many years and has been involved in various teaching and curriculum development roles at New York’s Osher Early Learning Center and other esteemed institutions.
Beyond her teaching expertise, Mrs. Hartz served on Shlichus as the Co-director of Chabad of Inwood with her husband Rabbi Herschel Hartz, where they led a creatively driven young professional community in Northern Manhattan. This collaborative experience has further enhanced her ability to foster a nurturing and stimulating educational environment.
Rabbi Yossi Rosenblum, Head of School, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointment. “We are thrilled to welcome Morah Raiza Malka Hartz to our team,” he said. “Her extensive experience and innovative approach to early childhood education will be a tremendous asset to our ELC. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on our students and staff.”
In tandem with Mrs. Hartz’s appointment, Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh is equally excited to announce the hiring of Rabbi Herschel Hartz as the new Kitah Zayin teacher for Limudei Kodesh. Rabbi Hartz brings a wealth of skill, experience, and a profound passion for community engagement and connecting with students through learning.
Rabbi Hartz’s strong belief in the potential of every child to succeed and make a positive impact is evident. He is committed to fostering a nurturing learning environment where each student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. By integrating hands-on projects, collaborative activities, personal attention, and serving as a Chassidishe role model, Rabbi Hartz aims to instill a lifelong love for Torah and Yiddishkeit in his students.
“We are excited to have Rabbi Hartz join our dedicated team,” said Rabbi Rosenblum. “His dedication to creating a supportive and inspiring educational atmosphere will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of our talmidim as they mature into young bochurim and prepare for their Bar Mitzvahs.”
With these dynamic new additions to the Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh team, the future looks bright for both the Early Learning Center and the upper grades. The Hartz family’s combined expertise and passion for education promise to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the school community.
