Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad in Los Angeles, California, announced recent developments, marking a significant stride towards providing an enhanced educational experience for its bochurim.
The Yeshiva, led by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Ezra Schochet, has acquired a new six-unit complex located just a few doors down from its current premises, a move that allows for the addition of approximately 25 beds.
With this expansion, the Beis Medrash program has now blossomed to its largest capacity ever, accommodating nearly 130 bochurim, said the Executive Director Rabbi Mendy Spalter.
With the Yeshiva experiencing tremendous growth, Rabbi Spalter proudly introduced the recent additions to the esteemed staff. These new members are anticipated to play vital roles in fostering an environment of deep learning and personal growth.
Rabbi Yisroel Benshimon will assume the role of a full-time teacher. Notably, he will continue serving as the Mashpia for one of the Shiur Aleph classes. Moreover, his extensive expertise will now extend to being a Magid Shiur in Gemara for one of the Shiur Beis classes.
In Beis Medrash, Rabbi Yisroel Benshimon will be taking on the role of full-time maggid teacher, continuing to serve as a Mashpia for one of the Shiur Aleph classes, while becoming a maggid shiur in Gemara for one of the Shiur Beis classes.
Joining the staff as the Assistant Menahel in Beis Medrash is Rabbi Berel Fayershtein who brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. His insight and guidance are poised to be instrumental in shaping the Yeshiva’s continued growth.
Rabbi Mendy Friedman, who has been a part-time teacher in the Yeshiva, will now serve as Assistant Menahel of the Mesivta, under Rabbi Amram Farkash.
Rabbi Spalter expressed his warmest welcome to these esteemed individuals, noting that their contributions to the Yeshiva’s mission will be invaluable.
“We welcome them to the growing numbers of staff at the Yeshiva and wish them much Hatzlacha in their shlichus working with our Bochurim in the Rebbe’s Mosed,” he said.
