Two young students of Yeshiva Darchai Menachem boys school in Crown Heights were spotted making a Kiddush Hashem with a kind gesture on Wednesday in Crown Heights.
The boys, Chaim Brikman and Yisroel Seewald, were seen approaching two workmen who were on the street repairing a street light.
The boys handed the workmen hot coffee and danishes, and the men expressed their thanks, says Shloimy Gelbstein, manager of The Marketplace supermarket.
“I was amazed to see these boys do this kind act on their own,” Gelbstein told COLlive.com.
Gelbstein asked them ‘why are you doing this’?
Before the boys could answer, one of the workers piped up, “They’re doing a Mitzvah!”
The boys then replied, “We saw these guys out here, working hard in the cold, and we wanted to do something nice for them.”
They said they had also done the same for a couple of crossing guards in the neighborhood as well.
“This was a huge Kiddush Hashem,” Gelbstein said. “Bystanders were amazed and impressed also, by the kindness displayed by these two fine young boys. It was so beautiful to see.”

I don’t know young Mr. Seewald, but Toby… you are no doubt rightly proud of Chaim! Mendel is shepping nachas. Well done, boys!
