The Bostoner chassidim have a unique melody titled “Yona” which they sing twice a year – on Shabbos Parshas Noach and on Shvi’i Shel Pesach.
It is a Yemenite tune which singer Shmuel Honig decided to record in tribute to the years during which he served the previous Bostoner Rebbe – Zera Levi.

The song is the creating of the mega talented duo who in recent years have been responsible for some of the biggest hits in chasidic music, Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry, who have adapted the song to the characteristics and style of Arik.
Anything he does is top quality!
I grew up hearing both ways— the Yemenite pronunciation & later from the Bostoners in this version.
Brought back great memories
These are really cute! But if you’re going to do Yemenite tunes…pronounce it the Yemenite way.
