The father of the Piamenta family of musicians has passed away Tuesday, 13 Shvat 5771 at the age of 84.
Yehuda Piamenta OBM devoted many years of his life to the protection and safety of the land of Israel and its Jewish citizens.
His children became inspired by the Rebbe and the Chabad-Lubavitch chassidus, with two of them – Yossi Piamenta and Avi Piamenta – becoming known Chassidic musicians.
A few years ago Yossi left his home of 20+ years in Flatbush, New York, to live close to his father in Israel.
His grandchildren are also blending Chassidic life with Jewish music and entertainment.
He is survived by his children Yossi, Avi, Chana Lorber of Kfar Chabad and Chaya Meer of Morristown, NJ.

From an article “Yossi’s father, Yehuda Piamenta, was a combat intelligence officer, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. Yossi spent his early childhood in Jerusalem; afterward the family moved to Upper Nazareth, where his father was a liaison between the Nazareth Arabs and the Histadrut federation of labor and government bodies.
