Music is a language of its own, touching the heart and soul in a way that simple words cannot. Never was that more apparent than at the recent barbecue event benefitting Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe organization in Miami, featuring Avraham Fried.
The event brought together communities from South Beach to Boca Raton for an incredible evening in support of Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe.
Greetings were given by Rabbi Dovid Leib Shur of Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe. Tehilim was recited by Rabbi Sholly Weiser.
Remarks were given by Rabbi Berel Goldman, Shliach in Gainsville, Florida, who gave a first-hand account of Yaldei’s impact on his own family.
While over 400 people attended, it was more like a gathering of family – an intimate evening where the barriers that usually separate melted away, and for a moment we were one. In that kumzitz-like atmosphere, Fried blurred the line between performer and audience, engaging with the crowd and singing with the audience not just to them. The energy in the room was palpable, uniting everyone through songs and stories. That, combined with the spectacular display of meat by Izzy’s Smokehouse, made the evening more than just a success.
It ensured that events like this will repeat and that Yaldei will be able to continue its mission: supporting families of the Rebbe’s Shluchim who are raising children with special needs.
Yaldei is a division of Merkos 302.
