Today, the 12th of Tishrei marks the Yahrtzeit of Chana Kolodny, obm who passed away four years ago at the young age of 17.
Chana was known for truly special and outstanding qualities. One of the things that truly stood out about Chana was the intensity and effort which she invested into everything she did; be it her Tefilah, Talmud Torah or Ahavat Yisrael.
Everything she did was with the wholeness of her heart and a sincerity and Kavanah which was truly outstanding.
Chana’s friends requested that extra tehillim be said (her Kapital would have been 22), and learning be done l’Iluy Nishmas Chana Bas Yosef.

I had the privilege of knowing Chanie Kolodny in Yerushalaim, during those first six weeks of seminary. Our friendship was brief, but from its start I was struck by the purity of Chanie’s kindness and genuine innocence of her being. The image of Chanie staying awake the entire Yom Kippur night, painstakingly annunciating each word, so precious to her, will forever be burned in my memory. And will anyone ever know?
