Crown Heights residents concluding the Yom Kippur repentance and fast day were reminded how fragile one’s life can be.
Both Hatzalah ambulances, regularly parked on Eastern Parkway near the 770 Shul, were seen on call by Kol Nidrei time, eyewitnesses say.
Over Monday, the volunteer emergency medical service dealt with numerous calls. The cry “Hatzalah” was heard throughout the day in 770 from the men’s and women’s sections.
Baruch Hashem, no major medical emergencies were reported.
On Motzei Yom Kipper, residents coming back from Shul on Carroll Street, between Troy and Schenectady Avenues, saw a tree fall on two Jewish-owned parked cars.
The fall caused heavy damage to one, smashing the entire back window and bumper, and damaging the second car lightly.
NYPD who are called to the scene say the tree probably fell because of the strong wind and rain during Mincha and Neilah prayers.
