For many years, living in Crown Heights with elderly loved ones was a difficult endeavor. Addressing the healthcare needs of aging parents and adapting the daily living conditions according to what they needed required much time, energy, and resources. Researching the available elder care options was complex and overwhelming. Families with elderly relatives were in what seemed like an endless pursuit for the best doctors, providers, suppliers, medications, etcetera.
However, thanks to WUK, such families can finally have respite from these pressures.
WUK Health Services was created to address the pressing healthcare needs of seniors in the community. WUK (an acronym for Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge) has assembled a team of doctors and experts in the geriatric fields, and brings together numerous resources in the medical and clinical fields, daily living services, and patient advocacy services in order to expedite the process of geriatric healthcare.
“We are here to bring a much-needed service to the community by making available the resources required to care for our loved ones,” says Mendy Coen, who founded WUK subsequent to volunteering in the geriatric field for 15 years.
Describing the positive impact of WUK on the lives of the elderly, WUK medical director Dr. Brody says that “WUK helps seniors live better and longer… bringing them peace of mind.”
The community in Crown Heights has grown exponentially in the last few decades, while families have expanded to include several generations. An increasing numbers of families find themselves becoming the devoted caregivers to their elderly relatives, whose healthcare needs often present a challenge when dealing with a complex and intimidating healthcare system.
Seniors and their families attempt to navigate a labyrinthine and confusing medical system to obtain the services that they urgently require. However, they are often at a disadvantage due to a lack of knowledge and resources. They may often find themselves burdened and overwhelmed by the challenges of caring for aging loved ones, whether it is finding the appropriate doctor, obtaining government benefits, providing for their home safety, and ensuring their overall wellbeing.
WUK addresses these problems by assisting hundreds of clients in finding the optimal healthcare options for themselves, with compassion and personal attention to their individual needs. Eli Blachman, a resident of Crown Heights, attested to their “kind and caring way in dealing with patient and family members” and their “professionalism and consistent desire to help others.”
“Their [WUK’s] devotion to seniors is unparalleled,” said Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, executive director of the Educational Institute Oholei Torah in Crown Heights, who is another satisfied WUK beneficiary. Other clients praised their patience, quick response time, and great advice.
With WUK, your golden years won’t be marred by needless anxiety and uncertainty. It is a health service that is here to help our seniors thrive and provide lasting peace of mind.
